About MG software downloads: Why no sort by size?

Sometimes I go in looking for tiny apps for a particular purpose, but I cannot sort by size. Why not provide this option even though you can sort by all other applicable criteria: Name, Date, License, OS, and Popularity? Please add that option if possible.

Hope this is an appropriate forum to post my question/suggestion...

I don't disagree, but I'd still like to be able to sort by size because as a rule of thumb huge programs are often bloatware, and because sometimes I just want a frugal utility to perform a single function, and I know (99%) that anything over, say 1 MB, won't fit the bill.

well, let me give another example. suppose you are looking for a a basic pdf editor. adobe acrobat extended pro 9 install packages are about 1-1.5 GB. Foxit PDF Reader/Editor/Creator with all plugins is under 10 MB. I have both installed, and while I've never measured their respective CPU usages, I'm positive Acrobat Pro requires more resources, takes longer to load, tries to add a multitude of start-up services, and is frequently nagging me (but I need it for work because everyone else uses it).

Then there's MS Word vs. Abiword (Portable) vs. Angel Writer. I need Word, but I don't like opening it unless I have to (it keeps asking for the MS Office CD, and I'm tired of digging it out of my pile of software CDs collection - actually I made an iso-copy of it that I keep permanently in my backups folder, but that's not the point...). I downloaded Abiword (7MB) and Angel Writer (2MB) because I wanted something small that would hopefully be able handle rich text formats (using the term loosely) with graphics - web content with graphics, and load quickly without hassles... I still need to test them... I could have downloaded OpenOffice.org too (150 MB), but even if the "Word" component of it is much smaller, and even if it were less CPU intensive than Abiword and Angel Writer (which I doubt), I still don't want to deal with anything that big if one of the smaller Word Processors can meet my needs...

I noticed MG had posted the new version of Sandboxie today; 568 KB installer! It's perfect for people who just want to dip their toes into "virtualization technology," but aren't ready for the heavy guns like VMware Workstation 6.5 for Windows or VirtualBox. Of course, I'm forming opinions here based partly on the ~0.5 GB installer size (VMware) - imo, MG's download site lowballs it... fwiw, I'm actually planning to start using VMware, but that's because Sandboxie has rocked so now I feel ready for the plunge... and I tried Sandboxie because it was small; I wasn't concerned about it adding a ton of crap to my system and then leaving half of it there if I didn't like it and uninstalled it.
