About redirecting?

    Hello,

    What does redirecting & browsing speed depend's on? Oprating system speed, ram size, processor speed, connection speed or something elss?

    Your guess is correct,connection speed matters,if you use tab browsing and scripts or flash RAM and Processor usage will go up also must add the remote server speed and the web browser you use.Opera and k-melon are quite fast.Also if your tcp settings are are messed up or if you have spyware popups can also slow you down.Ad blockers can speed up surfing by blocking known ad servers.Sites with too many embeded items are slow too.

    Agree, but one more thing: operation system itself (and its slowness or rapidity) can influence the speed of browsing too.

    Ok I have

    Windows XP which need's at least 256 ram
    128 mb ram
    Intel celeron 1.7 MHz
    DSL 512 kb
    Linksys router
    Internet Explorer as web browser
    No spyware popups


    I need to boost speed, what do recommend?

    More ram is the quick easy fix, but also if you have not turned off all the fancy glitzy colours and themes of XP do so, it will look like Windows2000 but will work a bit quicker.

    Right Click My Computer > Properties > Performance Settings and click adjust for best performance > apply

    FireFox is another good browser. If you use it you can speed up browsing with a program called Fire tune
