I want to replace XP on my old box, I have XP on a separate partition, will I lose the other partitions that are already there?

You will only lose partitions you overwrite, if I am understanding you correctly.

A data backup is always the safest, just in case, of course.

Thanks, I guess I'll back up 'my stuff' first then just in case. I've got 80 gigs there and no burner. Here we go!
