ACCC takes Google to court over online ads

GOOGLE, the "world's best search engine" is being taken to court by the Australian competition watchdog, which is alleging the company engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct.

I should have also mentioned that Google intend to defend the action "vigourosly" as it effects all Search engines, if proven. Bazza

 

The company that placed the ads in 2005 avoided a lawsuit by settling with Australian regulators, who are now going after Google for not policing the ads.

The ACCC is trying to gain legal clarification to have clear standards in place for search engines. So it isn't a case of millions of dollars being sought. They seek clearly written laws.
