What are acceptable temps for a 14% overclock; p4 3.0 HTT full load @ 50c >>> 3.4 CPU Burn-In @ 60c, but fans are running at max speed, 3750rpm. Should i invest in a new cooler? or just tone down the fans and deal with higher temps? (i dont want to have my fans running at full constantly...will that wear them out?) Thanks.

ive got the same CPU and before i went to liquid i had a 25% overclock to 3.8Ghz and my temps were wicked crazy...I got by for about 7 months with an idle temp of 50c....and a load up to 75c,i never had any problems...its really hot but dont be too scared with it up to 60c,prescott's can handle well beyond that,i believe 85c is its limit then it will start to crash on you..But even then ive got 85c before and it didn't act up at all...So 60c with a load is ok with a prescott....The question you should be asking yourself is ''are you ok with the temps being that high''?...As for the fans,i did have a Cooler Master Hyper48 with 4 heat pipes on my P4 before and my temps were fine and the RPM's were low(1500) did just fine...and 1 120mm in the front and another in the rear...as for wearing out,its mechanicle so yeah at full blast consistantly they will sooner or later wear out...
