Access 2002 auto-generate entries

I'm trying to figure out how to setup records so that they'll auto-generate. Example: I'm building a new DB for work and they have Work Orders that happen on a schedule (filter cleaning every 3 months, etc). I want to be able to set something up so that when it reaches a certain day that an append query will be triggered. But, I'm not sure how to go about doing it. I assume I need another table to house these scheduled WO's, but do I need another go-between table? Boy this is very hard to explain in text...

I have my main WO table and another table, PMWO, that holds the scheduled WO's.

I have a TRIGGERDATE field in PMWO. I need to make a query that will check this field (">=date()"), and for all that are true, those records will be appended into the main WO table.

I need these to work on a schedule, i.e., every 3rd month (there are different frequencies and I understand that I'll need multiple queries for that). So, I guess the better question would be, how to I put into a query that I want something to trigger (like do I use the "month()" property of the date/time field or what?)?

If anyone understands what I'm asking for, any help would be appreciated!

 

You know, putting it down in words kind of helped me think of a possible solution:

I should change the TRIGGERDATE field in PMWO from a date field to just plain text, listing all of the months that specific record needs to be done. Then, build queries for each month to check that field. If the specific month is listed in the TRIGGERDATE field, then append. Does that sound workable?
