    Hello,

Does the access deny window look like the one in this picture? If so, right click the MyDocuments folder and go to properties-->click on Securities in the upper right hand corner of the window-->click on Advanced towards the bottom of that window-->click on Change Permissions--> then when the similar screen pops up click on Edit underneath the lines listed--> at this point you should see a list of Allow/Deny items, simply click on allow for every item......And you may need to do this for every line list, i.e......The User, The Administrator etc...you will see several different names listed.

If that doesn't please post a picture of the Deny window that you are seeing.

Edit: You don't actually have to click allow, simply click on deny and the checkmark over the deny square should disappear. And you will have to hit okay like a dozen times, it will tell you that the parameters don't make since, but hit okay anyways and it will go through.

Did you try to follow the steps?
And are you operating as the Administrator?

I would try the steps I suggested in the first post, and if you get stopped then try to change your User to Administrator.

Can you create new folders on your desktop? Try moving a new folder from a different area into that folder. If you are unable to create a folder anywhere, and/or cannot put that folder in your MyDocuments folder, then we will know more information about where the problem is originating.

    Edit: DELETED.

crown1 I am convinced that it is some sort of permissions problem with your operating system. Not a virus or anything, or even another program. Just some sort of permission issue with that folder.

If you still want to keep going I would like to see your pictures like I have below of mine............

    Hi

It would be helpful to know if you can CREATE a new folder on your Desktop. Also, those pics demonstrate permissions for System on your Desktop, not your username for your Documents folder.

Okay bro, I got two things to try out.

First, when I modify My Documents folder, then delete it, after a reboot the folder will magically reappear and all the modifications are gone. So W7 is creating a folder where it knows the My Documents folder should be.

Second, create a new folder next to your My Documents folder and put all the information you have in your My Documents into the new folder. Next delete your My Documents folder. Next rename your new folder My Documents. I can't name my new folder My Documents for some reason, but others on the net have, so I would check it out.

Let me know if any of those works.

you want me to delete the My documents folder without backing up everything in there? would everything still be in there when i reboot and W7 re-creates the folder?

No. Move everything from inside the My Documents folder into a NEW folder you create under your username, then delete or rename the My Documents folder (which should now be empty) and rename the new folder "My Documents".

Yes, I thought this was implied, sorry for the confusion.

And if it doesn't come back, and/or you cannot rename your new folder "My Documents," then I suggest downloading this, but only after you have deleted the folder and verified that you cannot rename it.
