    Hi!
    Operating System: Windows XP SP2

I'm sharing the D: partition with "Allow network users to change my files" checked. Everything was fine until yesterday. Every double click on the partition produces an "Access denied" error message.

The strange thing is this: You can connect to the drive from other computers on the network, moreover, you can right-click on the drive and choose "Explore", it works.

I even have a shortcut to D: on my E:, and it's working too.

Is this familiar to you? Could it be that the shell script of "Open" command is damaged? I tried everything I know with permissions and security. Everything seems right. I even did a full scan with NOD32 and there are no viruses.

I'd like to hear from you all about this.

    Thanks!

Anytime I see intermittent 'Access is denied' messages when the file permissions are correct is when the hard drive is suffering corruption.

Would recommend that you run a chkdsk.

Thank you Mada_Milty, I didn't think of this, maybe because I was able to access the drive from other computers.

Anyway, it's solved now. Look how I did it (but it's not convincing, the default settings should have worked)
I went for the Security tab of the drive and changed the permissions of all users and goups (Administrators, Administrator, Users, Everyone) to Full control. I know his is bad, but this is the only thing that solved it.

What do you think? Strange, isn't it?
