Access Denied...please help...

Hello all...

I downloaded a program recently, a freeware RTS game called "Galactic dream". Being on dial-up as I am, and this being a 39mb download, it took me about 4 hours do download the thing.
Now, when I try to install it, I keep getting this message:

This is not the only program that I have been getting this message about recently. I seem to be locked out of about half of the things that I download. I did recently, however, download and install Microsoft Defender (beta). Could this have anything to do with it?

Please help!!! I live in a place where dial-up is the only connection I have, and it gets quite frustrating when I download a 200MB program (which takes me 2-3 days to download, btw), and when I go to install it, I am denied access to it!!!

Try THIS:
Right click the .exe file
select Properties
Make sure it's NOT 'Read Only'

If you are using Windows 2000 and/or higher and you are logged in as the administrator then you are having a permissions problem. For some reason I have been seeing this happen at least 10 times a day on other forums. But! There is an easy solution.

Download http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4899
Lauch Dial-A-Fix > (click) Tools > (click) Repair Permissions > (click) Go > Reboot

Then try to install again. There are times that Windows Defender and Norton will block installs but that doesn't usually produce an Access Denied error which is why I don't think that this is the case here.
