Accessing my home computer from work

Hey, I am not a computer idiot. I used to build them, and I know a lot about how they are put together, but I am not half as proficient with software. I have a job where I work long hours, and am rarely home to use my computer for downloading games, music, videos etc. I also am never home to upload my own movies and music (I'm a musician and I make short films in my spare time) Is there any way that I can access my computer from work so that I can tell it what to download and upload?

I use azureus which is now called Vuze to upload and download my torrent files. Can I browse the web at work, find a file I want to download, and tell my computer at home to download it somehow so it is there to be burned to cd/dvd by the time I get home? This would be extremely convenient as I have friends all over that upload their music and short films too. It's a pain in the butt going home searching for the torrents for long periods of time and not being able to hear them till the next day anyway. Especially when all I really want to do when I get home is go to sleep. It would be great if I could get home, burn a cd, and have it the next day to listen to in the car. It would be a tremendous time saver.

Also, is there a way that I can (once again while at work) tell my computer to upload a torrent to a site, and then host it?

If there is a way to do this you must be patient with me and explain it very well. When it comes to software, I don't know very much.

Do clear any solution through your works computer department as many if caught doing this types of things will have problems as it opens a few security holes. Just be smart about it and dont loose your job over this.

I'd suggest Remotely Anywhere you can connect via your web browser.
For a free solution there are many flavor of VNC to use.. UltraVnc, on so on.
Also if your not static IP at home you'll need a dns redirector like no-ip.com installed on the home PC.
