I have a lappie that upgraded to Win10 from 7 with my blessing. I had damaged the old OS doing something stupid, this helped.

Win 10 insisted I configure the internet links. Frankly I wasn't sure what I was doing.

Now though, when I go to a new hot spot where I've never been before, I can not access the portal, where you agree to the terms and service of the hotspot. Think a restaurant like Wendy's.

I think the problem has to do with the redirect these places do to force you into their local home page, Firefox and Edge is having none of it. So even though they offer internet access I can not get to their terms of service to use it.

I also paid for Avast, which might make a difference, and turned off the M/S antivirus. My theory is a different AVG would be a bit more secure than the default.
