    Hi,

Today I was in Disk Management and accidentally removed Volume K: which was my external Seagate Hard Drive. I meant to re format and delete the files but not delete the acutal volume.

I now cannot see my drive K: when I go into My Computer, but it is their in device manager, when I plug it in an out, i get the noise, but I just cant access it, so I did a system restore to a few days ago, but no look its still gone, i actually am not worried about the files on it, I just wanted to be able to use it again.

    I am using Vista Home.

    Rgds

You should be able to go back into Disk Management to re-initialize and reformat the drive. With the Disk Management window open, look down at the list where the individual drives are listed in bold print (it should list Disk 0, Disk 1, the CD drives, etc). The drive in question should be listed; right click on the bold print for the drive and choose initialize. Once that is done, you should be able to partition and format as usual.
