Accidentally removed my Realtek High Definition Audio driver

    I HAVE ALSO ACCIDENTALLY REMOVE MY AUDIO ON MY LAPTOP I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO? I HAVE ALREADY CHECK THE NET FOR POSSIBLE DOWNLOADABLE DRIVER BUT UNFORNATELY IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ME BY THE WAY I AM USING GATEWAY MODEL MT622ij I BOUGHT IT WHEN I WAS IN JAPAN. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE. MY OS IS XP CAN THE REALTEK CAN SOLVE MY PROBLEM? THANKS:cry

    Not listing anything for that model at Gateway so could you run the below as it will give us direct hardware info that could help us help you.

    Hi

    Sadly some of the info past the bit you posted maybe needed but the below as its a different model Gateways driver list but is same motherboard and likely sound chip,


    Install the UAA driver from Microsoft HERE first and reboot as you have SP2, then install this Audio driver from gateway HERE

    thank you so much HALO i tried but i didnt work out. i check my friends laptop today since we both have the same model of laptop i look on his add/remove harware from control panael i notice he have Sigma Tel Audio on it what's that? i am sorry i badly need your help....thank you so much for always helping me out....

    Hi

    That driver I linked too was the SigmaTel Audio driver for a different Gateway PC but same motherboard as yours, would you or your friend by any chance have the original driver CD that came with the laptop?

    If you have a serial number on the bottom of the laptop then enter it in this Page and see what it locates or click the lookup the serial for me option.

    i think my laptop had the problem or maybe its just me because when i reboot my pc i just click run and type and thats it of course after i run the kbb888111 then downloaded the audio driver then install it unfortunately there is no sigma tel icon showed up on the hardware lists, only the realtek is that the same? i have already tried to use the gateway website for suppot but unfortunately it says there that they cannot find my serial number since i bought my laptop in japan and luckily i am the website they gave me was in japanese i bought my laptop about 2 years ago? i've been using my notebook for quite a long time having no audio and it is difficult. i am sorry to bother you so much. but i really appreciate your big help.

    NOooo its no bother at all, would just like to help you out on this, indeed having a PC bought abroad brings in many issues and my Japanese is not good actually none existant apart from the pleasantries.

    Please run Everest again and this time in the Report Wizard choose All Pages and attach that as you did the other one as I/We maybe able to find in the data the actual audio chip. If it wont attach as its too big zip the text file up and attach.

    Yes you are correct Realtek is a maker of Audio chips for many PC makers.
