acer aspire 5100-5022 laptop

    Hello to all. I have an acer aspire 5100-5022 laptop. This laptop starts up but no video on screen or external monitor. I suspect motherboard to be the blame but have a question. I've seen 2 different motherboard part numbers for this machine. MBABE02001 & MBABK02001. From what i can gather, is the only difference between the two is: PATA & SATA?? The board in mine is: MBABE02001 and was wondering if the MBABK02001 would work?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:
