Acer Aspire 5535 dull screen - please help

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with the above laptop. The screen is very dull and difficult to see. Using the function key and cursor keys to increase the brightness does not work. Nor does it make any difference if on battery or mains. If I plug in an external monitor this displays fine.

Can anyone suggest anything else?

Sounds like it might be a bad/dying LCD screen(uses a backlight that is probably gone-thats why you can still kinda see it)) on the LT.
You can buy a replacement screen for it, Ebay has several for that particular model starting at 70 bucks or so.
If you are not comfortable with working on your LT then source a local geek(not Geek Squa$) and it should be a one day repair.
