Acer Aspire laptop crashed during factory restore. No disks

I have a friend running XP on an Acer Aspire laptop. Unfortunately, she did not create recovery or backup disks. This morning she tried to do a restore to factory settings, laptop crashed during it, and now it wants an Admin password. She has tried leaving it blank, but still comes back up.
She is about 40 miles from me, so I am trying to help her through emails. She does not know computers (as you can tell from not making disks).
I do have disks for Acer Aspire. Should I have her try Ctrl, Alt, Del and see if computer restarts? If recovery is corrupted, would my disks work?
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi

What is asking for the admin password? Windows? The laptop BIOS? If the BIOS, only Acer will be able to provide the code. If it's Windows, there's a few options available.

Do you have the same exact model number laptop as her? If so, your recovery media will work for her laptop. If not, it won't. However, if your recovery media will work, I strongly suggest copying them and giving her the copy to use, instead of risking your originals.

It is Windows asking. Says Administrator is logged in.
Also found out it is not the same model as mine.

It is no longer asking for a password. She tried Admin and admin but now tells her account has been disabled and to contact system administrator.

Has she tried booting into Safe Mode (press F8 at bootup, choose Safe Mode with Networking)?

I had her boot into safe mode and what do you know, it isn't XP, it is Windows 7. (shake head here) I had her choose the option of going back to last known good configuration and it started right back up. It is now restored back to factory.
Do you know now if she can still make recovery disks once she has already restored it once? She has the laptop at the office with her with no internet, so I couldn't have her check Help and Support. The only thing her Getting Started shows is to backup files.

There should be something in the program list like Acer and when you click it, it will say Acer Recovery Management. That's where you run the wizard to make the restore and driver DVDs.
