Acer Aspire notebook crashing

I have an Acer Aspire 5002 notebook that is 5 yrs old and is used mainly for internet and email only. No music or videos etc. The CPU usage keep spiking to 100% and crashes. I have cleaned the fan, run malware bytes with no issues but if I try to run any other programs like adaware or spybot or even an anti virus it crashes very soon after starting. I have checked other forums and have had no luck. Nothing is running in the background and I have minimal programs at startup that I configured in msconfig. I also ran defrag and have over 25% of main hard drive available. Any other programs that I can run to clear up the problem?

 

Knowing what OS that you're running and the service pack level that its at could be helpful. Is the version of malwarebytes that you are running updated to current?

As far as an antivirus application crashing, that would worry me! What antivirus application are you using?
