I just bought an Acer 420 laptop but it has a bios password so I cant do anything with it (just a blue screen with a box that says enter password). Have tried the following: Backdoor passwords(not working)-,taking out cmos battery(but is soldered in)-,locating jumper switches(cant find them)-,pressing del, left shift,fn f2,fn f3 while starting up. even called acer who said it will be £48.88 to remove bios pwd but they cant guarantee it will work (so they gave me a master reset code)-which doesnt work!!!
Should I just bin it??? Would appreciate if anyone could help.
    Thank you

Thank you Bold Eagle, but I have tried most of those suggestions and I still can't locate the jumper switches.
Think I might just sell it on as parts now:(
