I got this laptop and when turned on, I get click click around the hard drive. No video, no cmos nothing. I removed the hard drive and put it on my desktop using an adapter cable. On my desktop, the drive spins up and all files and folders are accessable. In the laptop case I can still hear clicks in the case as though the laptop is trying to spin up the hard drive. Still no video at all. Where should I go from here? Thanks,
    Confused :confused

I would copy all info now as backuip. A click/click sound is never good with a HDD.

    Hi

I've had the same clicking noise with a laptop hard drive before, however it wasn't IN a laptop -- it was in an external drive case that required two USB plugs for power, and I only had one plugged in. Once I plugged the second one in, it was fine. The clicking sound was it attempting to spin up the drive, but stopping after not registering enough power to complete the operation, and repeating.

So I think that (especially since you said there's nothing else happening on the laptop) the power supply is toast.

These seem to be dead links. Thanks anyway.
