  1. My daughter has a acer netbook that the power cord was chewed on buy my stupid dog. Right at the end where you plug it in. He mom took it to her BF dad that works on computers. All he did was cut the chewed part off and resoldered the wores back. But there was some round resistor? Fuse? on the part that he cut off. does it neet that or is it ok he chopped it off?

Frankly I would be hesitant to plug it in until I got the right answer, it was there for a reason!

I own an eeepc netbook. I would not use an adapter with the fuse no longer present. One of the posters on the eeepc forum had his adapter explode and it ended up frying parts on the motherboard.
I don't know the purpose of the fuse but it must be there for a good reason.

If it were my netbook, I'd spend the money for a new adapter.
