I have an Acer One laptop. When I turn it on, all I get is an white screen with a big black mark on it. What could be wrong. Back light, graphics card or what. How do I add .an image to this post

    That does not look good.
Do you have, or can you borrow, a spare monitor you can connect to the laptop?

No, most people I know only have tablets

Where does the tablet fit in the picture?

As In my previous post, the tablet has no image other than a big black spot. If that is what you are referring to

That is my issue. I hooked a remote monitor to it via VGA cable, now I can see the screen. What does this indicate. Do I have a bad what on the tablet.

Sounds like screen - but it is worth checking the cable where it goes through the hinges, if you want to . A screen could cost you anything from £30-£50,-that is what TinW is trying to tell you.

Forgive my ignorance between laptop and tablet. With that said, can the screen be replaced, is it removable

A tablet has no keyboard permanently attached. There are very few tablets with Windows. Most tablets run either android or the Apple OS. The reason is Windows is a very large OS and tablets have small ssd units as hard drives so Windows would quickly fill up all the usable space.

Our netbooks (I refer to it as a netbook because it has no CD/DVD drive) are Aspire 722 and V5. You open them up and the screen and keyboard are hinged permanently to each other. Both run Windows 7. Netbook and laptop are used interchangeably.

There are some units with a keyboard attached that are able to bend 360° so the keyboard is under the monitor. Those units are called convertibles or 2 in 1. You can use it as a laptop when the monitor and screen are about 90° apart. You can use it as a tablet (touchscreen) when you fold the keyboard under the screen.
