Was reading somewhere on Microsoft site that said ACPI in XP Pro requires an "SMBus or I2C-compatible bus, and other items" and "If the system BIOS is on the 'badBIOS' list, the ACPI HAL is not installed."

So in doing custom-build, how do I insure hardware I pick has SMBus or I2C-compatible bus, and is not on the badBIOS list? What am I looking for, and what do I need to know? Also, what exactly are these "other items" required?
