On my linux pc I had to disable ACPI due to an problem with it. Will the pc still shut down if it overheats?

    Hi

Your CPU depending on what you have, but if modern one has temperature halt processes built in if the temp gets too hot, they scale down the mhz to cool the CPU and if too hot they are likely to BSOD your PC before melting,

IIRC it was Linus Torvald that said ACPI was a design disaster waiting to happen!

Any ideas if a AMD Sempron 3000+ supports this.

This is a linux pc so no bsod.

I had to turn of ACPI due to it saying ACPI: Unable to turn cooling devie [on] tho the cpu temp was fine and the fan was spinning. I think it's a hardware bug.
