Acronis 11home

I am trying to use acronis 11 to back up a pc so that I can do a clean install of the os. I selected 'my computer' but exclude hidden and system . Is that going to get all my programs so that I do not have to reload anything but OS. Or does anyone have a suggestion for reloading os on XP Media Center pc, when the windows os disk will not allow for a R on the second screen?

I have run chkdsk /r and then tried the windows setup/install cd and tried running the second option of R previous installation, but it is not an option. Also, it has changed my drive letter for the os to D: and the recovery partition to c:. I tried the Gateway recovery option at boot F11, but it keeps asking for a disk #2, which I do not have a disk #2.

Any help appreciated.
