Can one create one-time backup tasks and then create a desktop icon
for each one - for the user who insists on the "one-click" solution

first of all what's the version of True Image?

for 10th i've found this:

Acronis True Image Home offers you backup of the following data categories:
My Computer (image backup of any set of disks/partitions)
My Data (file-level backup of any set of files and folders or an entire file category)
My Application Settings (file-level backup of Windows applications settings)
My E-mail (file-level backup of MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express settings and messages).

this is like "one-click sollution", but you need to run TI, and then choose in wizard one of this options. And i've never heard about creating a desctop icon for backup tasks.

It is Ver10. I have seen the list of task types. As I say I can define tasks. What the user wants is not to have to open TI to see the list and select one task to run. Simple to you & me, but users are users.>>Phil

 

i've just specified, you can take out a backup task but only using a specail acronis console(i don't know whether TI 10 has such, but corporate versions have it for sure), you need to write a script and frankly speaking it's not very easy and this can be done only by very advanced users. Officially True IMage doesn't support this feature.

You can save backup tasks in the true image prog, i mean you create a backup task to backup some special files, then you save it and the shortcut will be showed in the true image.
