acrord32.exe hangs in Win ME

I searched for info on this one thinking its gotta be common, but see no threads here that are on -target as yet.

I have fully-up-to-minute ME on my primary machine [also two others on the LAN]. Have Adobe Acrobat 6, but not with the frills like "atmosphere"... just the reader. Acrobat files that are 'clean' open just fine. However, anytime Acrobat is invoked, it ends up leaving acrord32 task laying around, and then some collision causes acrord to hang [the task manager shows it 'not responding'].. The only way I know this is i start getting a string of IE6 issues.... hung windows, that sort of thing. If I clear acrord then the progression of odd IE issues seems to stop, though I have to cleanup the instances that are already in the ditch.

Is there a cure for this 'sticky acrord' issue?

Many thanks..... not a happy answer but it IS the answer.
seems it is not peculiar to ME.....
I need one of those Valkyrie routines to run around killing off acrord
