activate windows

Hello I have a problem, I have a older laptop. That I had to reinstall windows xp on but it keeps telling me I need to activate it. How do I activate it with out the code to activate the program. is their a way to get the activation code, for free or do I have to pay for it. please help me get it right so I can run this computer....:cry:cry:cry

Is the windows xp a genuine copy or pirate copy. If genuine copy then the code should be on a sticker on the back of the case if not you would have to contact Microsoft to get a windows xp code they might give you the code for free if it's missing the original code but if not then they will charge you for new activation code.

If Windows XP is a pirate copy, Sorry I can't help you on that as it's a illegal copy and Microsoft won't offer you a activation code for it.
