activating winXP pro

Hey guys

I installed winxp pro on my laptop after already having the same disc installed on my desktop. When I went to activate it on the laptop, it said "this cd has been activated too many times". So I called the toll free number and told her this(my laptop)is the only system I have my winxp cd installed on. She gave me a new cd-key, which I did not write down. Then I realized I need that cd for my desktop pc. Am I still gonna be able to use that xp pro disc for my desktop?

You have bought a licence to use the prog,phone them back and tell them you screwed up,they have no choice but to help you.Sorry I read your post wrong legally you can only use one copy of win per computer,I have heard of an extended license to 2 comps that is cheaper than buying another disk.but I havn't researched it.

You could use that disc to install on a million computers, but you can't use the product key more than once. Your problem is not the disc, it is the product key and license it represents. MS requires you to buy a license for every computer you use their operating system on. You can use the same disc to install onto both computers, but you must buy a separate product key/license for each.
