I attempted to copy and paste a shortcut to my desktop. It was of a link to a windows media url. With a right click, I had the option of paste shortcut. I clicked on yes when asked if I wanted to add an active desktop item to my desktop. Now I have a non functioning white area in the top left hand corner of my desktop. How do I make it go away.

    Try THIS:
Right click the desktop and select 'Properties'
    'Desktop' tab
    Click the 'Customize Desktop' button
    Select the 'Web' tab
UNCHECK anything checked in the window there
    OK...OK
You may have to restart for a change to take affect
    Hope it works!
    :)
