   Is there anyone there to help me find software to restore my active desktop? I have no icons or start buttons. I am running xp pro

   Do you get a drop down box if you right click the desktop?

   Thanks for the reply. No drop down box. No start bar...I can only use task manager to open anything.

   You can go to the task manager / new task / and type in explorer..do you get your desktop back? ....then go to the malware section as I told you before and do the Read and Run First instructions.
