ROTFLMBO thought I was the only one that answered their own posts. Nice to know I'm not the only one that is nutz here.

are there not log on and log off scripts?

    echo %date% - %time% - %username% - %computername% >> \\servername\sharename\log%date%.txt

    This is my best answer.

Problem is that all the computers are set to log on to either the admin profile (for us) or the default profile (for the students) ....so no personal log ons ...it could be set in the active directory, which I did as a test....but then each time a user got on a different computer, I'd have to go and set that one up to access ( or install) the programs on that profile...real PITA.

Okay, instead of log on scripts, add it to the registry, via run.

HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run (I think that is it, going by memory).

Or add to the startup option.

Unless I'm missing your point that is. :(

No, you are not missing the point. :)

I'm missing my marbles.......there just isn't any easy way to track a dynamic group of users accessing random computers (any of 28) and getting on the web for non-student reasons. It will just have to be hoping that none of them get computer savvy enough to know how to erase their tracks. :(
