Active Partition.

    I have booted the C partition and yet it's not active.
    What's going on?

    Same here - booted C and am in Win 7, yet D is showing as active.

    The Active partition is where the Windows boot file bootmgr is located. It's not necessarily where the system files are - depends on how you set the system up.

    I did notice bootmgr is on the D partition.

    Thanks. That is one of the "new" things I'll be learning today.

    I don't dual boot any more. I did it because I didn't want to lose XP and I had a MS Win 7 DVD so I could explore Win 7 before I actually was forced to use it. I was never able to create a USB boot stick so I decided I had to dual boot.
