Hi! I'm new here I came to see if I could find a fix for my problem but I don't see one specifiaclly like mine. I apologize if there is one here and I missed it.

We moved and once I plugged my computer back up and got everything running again I ran into some problems. While trying to fix those problems I see that my ActiveX isn't showing the information bar (for downloads and what not) on any sites at all. The specific web sites are Java.com and for microsoft downloads page. I found a site that tests your ActiveX for you and it said "If you see the message ActiveX is not supported, then your browser doesn't recognize ActiveX at all. Netscape, Opera, or other browsers usually do not support ActiveX. " I use IE6 (7 doesn't work on my computer) and I have Windows XP. I've been looking and reading since tis morning and I can't figure out how to get it to recognize it. I checked and it's enabled so I'm at a loss! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    Tav

In Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Manage AddOns you may find dis-abled ActiveX addons or even IE7 has deleted them - it did mine.

Alternatively, if the above fails, you can also try and enable movies to be played in your explorer.
In Microsoft's Internet Explorer, this options is available under:
    Tools
    Internet Options
    Advanced
    Multimedia
then place a tick in the "Play movies in Internet Explorer" field.
