ad aware issues

    i recently used adaware to scann my comp and i gotten 6 registry keys found so of course i click on them and try to get ride of them but i cant cuz everything i do that nothign happens im not sure what my problem is does anyone else?

    Yes, it sounds like these are probably the false positives, usually the 1004-W3 keys. If it's those, don't worry, adaware will soon fix. Make sure you continually have the latest updates for adaware... Open Adaware, then press the Check for Updates button.

    Exactly what are you clicking after the scan completes?
    And tell us what the 6 items are?

    well i checked all the files and i click next and it freezes and wont do nothing , only the next freezes and quartine freeezes but nothing else and the 6 items are called flyswat

    Well, I'm glad Chaslang asked you this... I thought SpyBot was supposed to kill this bugger.

    Try some of my following instructions and see where it gets you...also make sure you've uninstalled flyswat or any related programs:

    Do these free online scans and post what it picked up, plus delete those that are found--Be sure and put a check in the box by AUTO CLEAN before you do the scan-- What is not AUTOCLEANED delete and post what they are:::::

    Second Step is to make sure you have all the SpywarePrograms below Downloaded (Make sure you download them all to your ProgramFiles NOT Temporary) and UPDATE THEM!! THEN follow the rest of the following steps:::::

    Download Microsofts Critial Updates and Patches:

    Disable System Restore:

    If you got 2000 -- don't worry about System Restore boot in SafeMode:

    Then do this:
    Show Hidden Files and Operating System Files, etc.; follow step by step:

    Try running AdAware in safe mode --- Make sure you've already gotten the latest UPDATES (Open, then press the Check for Updates button) and apply the following settings:

    Click on START -- custom scanning options -- Customize.
    Check the following settings:
    Scan within archives
    Scan active processes
    Scan registry
    Deep scan registry
    Scan my IE Favorites for banned URL
    Scan my host-file
    Click on TWEAK:
    Select -- Scanning Engine
    Check "Unload recognized processes during scanning"
    Check "Include additional Adaware settings in LogFile"
    Select -- Cleaning Engine
    Check "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"
    Then click "proceed" to save your settings.
    Click on Next then SCAN. Everything AdAware finds is safe to delete.

    Run SpyBot Search and Destroy --- Make sure you have already gotten the latest UPDATES (Open, then Search for Updates button)

    Now check your activeX controls and fix as need be:

    Empty your Temporary Internet Files and history in Internet Options. And clean out your
    %Userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp
    folder. You can also use Crapcleaner and run this AFTER all else to help you clear out some stuff:

    ENABLE SYSTEM RESTORE

    Reboot Normally

    LASTLY -- RUN HJT AND re-POST LOG --- Don't put HJT in Temporary, put it in Programs -- Also be sure you have already gotten the latest Updates/Versions (Open, Config, then MiscTools, and Check for Updates)
