I downloaded Ad-Aware, but I can't run it. I've tried uninstalling it and d/l'ing it again, but that isn't working either. The error message I get is:

AD-AWARE caused an exception eedfadeH in module <unknown> at 0000:00000000.

on second thought. This is apparantly part of "search bar" hijack.

please run through our tutorial obviously skipping the use of Ad-aware until you can get a good scan with spybot and the others. Once you've done that, then run ad-aware and see if it's working.

after that if the problem still there.. go to http://dll.yaroslavl.ru/index.php3?lng=&in_char=R

to download both .dll.. riched20.dll & riched32.dll and then copy it in U'r c:\windows\system32
I mean in the system folder if not in c:

probobly one of those has already been damaged by something.. adware or worm to protect it self from the scanner engine that U use!!

    hope it help!

Hi Kodo, I am responding for my sister: Margo says" I did what you suggested, downloaded spybot and did a scan, apparently something got deleted, utils.dll file in particular, and now I cannot connect to the internet. Any suggestions? I backed up my system before I did the spybot scan, then when I got the utils.dll error, I recovered all the files and it is still not working.

Just did a search on my C drive (Win98SE) and no utils.dll at all, anywhere. I run AdAaware every day so utils.dll is probably not related to AdAware. What version are you using? AdAware SE or the old AdAware6 ?

You may still have leftover problems from previous trouble. Bazza

she probably had something tied into her TCP/IP stack.
see if you can get this file to her

that should take care of the problem....
