Ok, I run Ad-Aware and it scans and I click next to delete the spyware. Then my task bar at the bottom completly disapears along with all my icons on my desktop for like 5 seconds and a message appears saying that it cannot delete so and so (I forget what it said, if you need to know to help please say so I will run it again). It was like 2 things it couldn't delete, then all the sudden My Documents opens up. Is there anything unusual there? Im running XP Pro. Thanks :)

Yes it would be better to tell us exactly what you saw in the message. Also it may be a good idea for you to follow all the steps in this Sticky thread < READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal > If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

Can you run it from safe mode? I can only assume its trying to delete files that are in use. Also, be sure you have the latest version. You can get to safe mode easily by rebooting and tap your f8 key before the Windows Splash screen appears.

Hey guys, just ran Ad-Aware again. I'm guessing I have the newest version of Ad-Aware SE Personal because I installed XP no more than 3 days ago and immediatly download AW, so i'm guessing I have the one most up to date? This is exactly what it tells me:

''Some objects could not be removed, try closing all open browser windows prior to the removal. If this does not help, reboot and run Ad-Aware again. The following could not be removed:

    C:\Program
    Files\CXTPLS\ace.dlll

Do you want to let Ad-Aware remove them after the next reboot?''

I thought it was weird today when I restarted my computer that Ad-Aware popped up, maybe because I clicked yes when it asked if I wanted to remove them after the next reboot? Maybe that ought to get rid of it, nothing will be running yet. Think thats what I should do? Thanks

Well good news, I restarted my computer and ran Ad-Aware at start up and it deleted everything. I then went to my add/remove programs and noticed a few things there that I DIDN'T install, removed them then had to restart my computer again. Now new problem, I clicked on the start menu, went into my computer, clicked on C drive then clicked on Program Files and noticed a whole bunch of unwanted stuff. I could delete some of it but not all. What I can't delete is:

eZula -- I get prompted, ''Cannot delete eZula:access is denied. Make sure the disc is not full or right-protected and that file is not currently in use.''
As I know of, im not using ''eZula'' at all. Also when I go into the folder and try to delete the folder entitled ''images'' I get this message, ''Cannot delete images. It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.'' That sounds scary because it sounds like someone is maybe hacking me. Next one is:

Web Offer -- I get prompted, ''Cannot delete sepng.dll: access is denied. Make sure the disc is not right-protected and that file is not currently in use.''
Also, as I know of, I;m not using this program or whatever it is.

I also have this thing called ''EARN'' in my programs list. I've deleted it from the programs menu but then it appeared again after I restarted my computer. I checked add/remove programs to see if it was maybe installed there but wasn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Most of you guys have helped me so much already with other stuff and im very thankful. Cheers. :)

All you have been mentioning is Ad-Aware SE. What about the other stuff I ask you to do:

Also it may be a good idea for you to follow all the steps in this Sticky thread < READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal > If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

The more details you can provide the better.

Also, make sure your Ad-aware reference file is SE1R5 22.08.2004
