Lately whenever I've run Ad-Aware, almost immediately my taskbar trns white, then i get this blue screen w/ this message: "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}. The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005. {0x00000000 0x00000000}. The system has been shut down." I then have to restart the computer. Has anyone else experienced this? Its been in the last month or so that this has happened

I just ran Ad Aware in smart system scan and it ran fine with no error messages, in fact stangely it seem to run extremly fast. Have you used other spyware/adware scanners have tried the different scanning options? I am just an average user but if you get no other advice you could consider re-installing AdAware, my version appears to be working fine in fact I just ran it again and I swear in the smart scan it took about 20 secs. I have been tweaking and tidying my sys so this may explain why.

    What version are you operating:

    AdAware SE Personal Build 1.06r1

Just completed a full scan in about 5 minutes but once again no problems, hope this can help, have all latest updates.

Have you done your latest update?

Yeah, I just ran a Smart scan and the same thing happened. I've got 1.06r1 and all the latest updates. Im thinking it might be a virus or something similar, but Ive got AVG which i have scheduled to run daily, as well SpyBot (which I recommend), and I just got CCleaner as well. None of these has detected anything in the Ad-Aware files

This could be due to Virtumonde (aka Winfixer) malware. You should go to the Malware Forum and follow the steps in this Sticky thread

READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

If still having problems with running Ad-Aware SE, just skip that step and do the rest. Attach the request logs (see steps 6 & 7) when completed in a message in the Malware Forum. If you do not attach all three requested logs and indicated you have run the READ & RUN ME, someone will just tell you to run the READ & RUN ME again.

Note: CCleaner does not look for malware.

Try uninstalling ad-Aware and re-installing it.

    You're welcome!

That's what I thought. Are you sure you got it all removed?
