Ad-Aware SE Plus

    this is a small problem I'm having with this program. For some odd reason it always tells me that my definitions are 93 days old. I'll search for updates, and it will download them. It will also tell me there is a newer version of the program that I can download, but it won't let me download it because I lost my information for the program, and therefore I can't upgrade. Bummer huh. But the next time I open the program, it could even be later that same day, without shutting down my comp, or even restarting it. It will once again tell me my definitions are 93 days old. Is this a problem?

    MG to rescue again. Try this link. It will point you to the latest version of Ad-Aware.

    You will be able to download it from the link above. Maybe uninstall the older version,(after logging OFF the net), first, before installing this version, in case something is corrupted on your current version. Hope this helps. Bazza

    actually, the version you pointed me to I believe is the freeware version, I bought the program I am having problems with.

    Had a few problems of late with Ad-Awares Updater myself, way I cleared my problem was to download the manual def file HERE

    Un-Zip and copy and paste into the Ad-Aware folder in C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE XXXXXX ( where xxxxx is your version )

    a reboot and it should kick start the updater next time their are updates.

    It helps us diagnose problems, if the exact Program version is quoted. Especially if there are Freeware and Shareware versions. Most of us here use free versions, if possible. I know I do, being a cheapskate. Bazza

    Something I forgot to ask!! Which build version are you using? ( should be build version in lower right corner )

    you could also if you have 1 of the 2 original order data entries ( email address or order number ) http://esd.element5.com/regendl.html?languageid=1&publisherid=14524 get the updates to the program.

    or if not got either of them then email Lavasoft Support but I would imagine that you would need 1 of the 2 values above to prove eligibility?

    I'm using build 1501. It says there is a newer version 1.06 build 1610 and I can download it by clicking ok. but it asks me for info I dont have. My friend who owns a computer store put it on my machine. but I don't know if it's registered or not. and I have no way of updating it. I don't even have the original CD. is there anything I can do?

    The only way too obtain Ad-Aware SE Plus is too buy it. Ask your friend about the registration stuff for it.
