First major update in some time. I personally uninstalled my Ad-Aware 6 and installed this, but noticed it does check for previous versions, so the assumption is you do not need to unistall your previous version.

MA, this is true, downloaded it when I saw the RSS feed from this site. I let it uninstall Ad-Aware 6 (freeware edition) and install and ran. It did leave my version 6 folder containing previous scan and quarantine logs, and preferences, though.

i really like the new feature that shows you how much of a threat each thing is.

it also seemed to stir up some viruses that avast hadent caught untill now. as adaware scanned, avast started popping up with virus warnings...could just be me though...anyone elase having this happen?

Just downloaded it today and ran a scan it found iwon in program files9.0\zlib.dll. It removed it on reboot and then my AOL would not acces the internet because zlib.dll was missing.

Tried restoring but got BSOD. Unistalled AOL run scan nothing found. Reinstalled AOL ran scan iwon found so it must be in the install cd.

Had a look at their support forum and other pleople have had the same problem.Lavasoft will resolve the glicht in the next reference update.

Just thought I'll let you know in case other pleople write in

Forgot to say I'm from the UK and might only affect AOL UK software.

I have spybot s&d installed and the host list added. Adaware SE identified 39 critical items in the first scan which were all the from spybots host list. It said most of them were coolwebsearch and something else, I forget what it was.

Just a heads up. I ignored all the items and everythings back to normal.

Hmmm Like the popup blocker, but ya can`t use control key to override it. Darn. lol Some stuff ya wanna see like screenshots or d/ls are blocked. Gotta turn off the blocker then.

IE in SP2 has a blocker anyway... so it would be kinda redundant anyway.
