I'm using Spyware Terminator (go to their website and navigate to the older file version 2.3.xxx scroll to the bottom of the pagenot the newer version offered by majorgeeks It is very light on resources and can sense system changes in real time. I use Spybot for the immunization features and Malwarebytes for my regular scanning. My A/V is Avast! I have had no infections since I've used this combination and since my comp. is behind a cisco hardwire router at home, I use windows firewall. BTW, I also scan with GMER so I know I'm not infected or 'botted.

Also of note:
I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus and installed ie7pro just in case for IE.
