Ad-Aware

I downloaded Ad-Aware SE Peronal Edition 1.05 but it doesn't install. It starts the installation wizard, gets to *checking for installed components*, and then just stops. This may be because I'm using W95. If so, is there an earlier version of ad-aware that is compatible with W95? Or do I have some other problem that's causing it not to install? Thanks.

Ad-Aware SE is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003.

There is no version suitable for Win95. you wouldn't want anything earlier as it wouldn't clean everything out.

I'm also trying to find a good removal tool for win 95 if anyone has a suggestion please post my forum

Spybot supposedly works. You may need some updates to certain Windows components. See this: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/11.html

Also SpywareDoctor supports Win95: http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/
It is available here on MG's too but wanted you to see that link for info.
