Ad blocking freeware, recommendations?

    Are there any good ad blocking programs in the freeware world?

    We have anti-spyware and adware removal programs but cannot seem to find an ad-blocker.

    Thanks. Before I try them, a question:

    Do either of these programs block ads that are not pop-ups? I'm asking specifically about ads that are embedded into web pages. Ads by Gooogle would an example. The ads that show up on news sites (www.boston.com) are other examples. We already have a pop-up blocker; it is on-line advertising that we don't wish to view.

    Appreciate your advice!

    Google toolbar is supposed to work well.But I don't have a prob since using a tweaked firefox.
