ad virus

hello: I'd like to know how to remove a virus that does the following:

On any web page, even on Major Geeks, when the computer sees text, certain words are underlined and/or colored. (which is annoying in it self) If I click on one of the underlined words, I am directed automatically to ad pages that usually have something to do with the underlined word. For instance, I had the word education in a post I put on here. Once the post was submited, i saw the words computer, and education became underlined. clicking on the underlined word sent me to a web page for some online school (it was an advertisment) I figure this is in my computer. Also my computer is running slow.

what can be done to remove this $#@&*% stuff?

do steps 1, 2, and 3, then post a hijack this log if you still have the problem

 

i kinda like it MA, intrusive, but dosent take up all that much page space
