    Ad +- Pro

+- Pro seems to have problems filtering pop-ups and cookies from a few sites.
I've added their URL to the filter list, checked it twice/thrice/etc, but they still manage to get through.
I thought that they might have embedded non-printing characters in them, so I even tried cut/pasting them into a hex-editor, - nothing there.
I have noted that all of them have the nasty habit of taking over the ENTIRE screen, including overwriting the system tray. I don't quite know how they do that.
    So, here's a couple:
    http://img.mediaplex.com/cgi-bin/html/(much stuff here)
    http://ads.specificpop.com/(much stuff here)

So, what are these sites doing to get by AD+-?

Ok, make sure this is straight, were not really allowed to talk about pop-up-stoppers here, since they are the means in which wemasters (such as myself) make well needed income.

If these particular pop up companies are bugging you and/or are harmful (and taking over the whole screen is what i call harmful) then you can edit the hosts file to block anything from that particular server.

KaZaa Lite calls this the Super Trick, but i call it loop-back redirection(as do most people)

Do you need to know how to do this?

    Harmful?!
I call it annoying as hell, and intolerable!
If you mean by 'editing the hosts file', Ad+_'s filter file, that's easy, it has a pop-up utility to do that.
If you mean Windows hsot files, no I don't know how to do that.
I'm not familiar with 'Super Trick', as I don't use Kazaa for music, I use WalMart ;-)

Sure, I'm alwasy interstd in new techniques.

One thing I notice about the cookies I receive is that some of them append a forward slash to the end of their URL.
    IE, foo.bar.com/
I'm kinda wondering if those are treatd the same as an URL without the slash.
