Adaware Question...

Okay now i'm not experiencing any problems on my PC, and i have Adaware, Spybot, Spyware Blater all fully updated and run them regularly... I downloaded the most recent reference file for Adaware and changed some scanning settings... When I select these 3 objects and try to remove them, it never sends them to the quarantine list, and when i scan again, they show up again... thanks for your time...

 

strangely, they stopped showing up after multiple scan attempts... any idea what's going on here?

 

You can have malware and not have any problems... these are definitely related to various spyware... does Adaware not let you delete these?

 

Yes I know that I just wanted to convey that I'm informed when it comes to spyware protection =]

I would "select all" and hit the Next button, now normally it sends them to the Quarantine list and i delete them from there but it wasn't doing that in this case, and they showed up again on a 2nd scan... Now i'm scanning again with Adaware and they aren't showing up, so i guess they got deleted but i'm not 100% sure... Adaware said Possible Hosts File Hijack near the description so perhaps it's a false positive?

 

sorry, I have a tendency to dumb down conversations so I can understand them... like I said, I will be going to you and the other Experts here for advice...

regardless, we seem to be having alot of those false/positives lately...

 

heh... i dont know much when it comes to spyware removal... i just read alot of the threads and learn from chaselang's advice... most of the time i just try to direct people to sticky'd threads, online virus scanners, or downloads that might help them... i'll wait till he surfaces again
