add/remove program it tells me that it can't find the instalation file in C program, you mentiond A program called CCleaner where can I find it,
I would rather stay out of the registry if I can.
    Thank you Retired :confused

That's very strange. The link is working for me.

Try going to MajorGeeks.com home page: http://www.majorgeeks.com/

Scroll down and look to your left. You'll see a Search field. Type in ccleaner. It should be the first option in your search.

    Hi

One thing to check on is that some installations of some apps have issues with add/remove at times, so go into Program Files folder and look for the Print Shop (is this the Brøderbund one) folder and look for an uninstaller file, maybe called UnWise, Unins000 and uninstall and try that file.

I do think I have got rid of the print shop, could not find any file called unwise/uninstall 000, now when I try to reinstall the program it ask for
the ISSRIPT disk any ideas what that is now.

    Hi retired

What's the exact error message? It sounds like maybe your InstallShield is corrupted?

I confirm Ccleaner is really important to use.
Just check ie temporary files, sys temp files, system errors memory file and prefetch, then uncheck anything else for windows and apps in that section.
    Check everything concerning the registry.

    analyse then clean !

You'll have a brand new windows after completion !

I confirm it might solve your problem.
I also heard about Revo on GAME ONE in France. very good links.

Not recommended to check prefetch files for deletion, IMO, they should only be cleaned manually by someone who understands the purpose of the prefetch files - unless you want to slow down your boot time performance, that is.

(I just analysed my 'old' Prefetch data with Ccleaner, it lists in detailed mode 33 files that it would delete - 16 of those relate to programs I use in EVERY session ... no thank you, leave it unchecked).

Basically, the Ccleaner default settings are fine for about 95% of PC users and safe for 99.99%+.

    Hello there,
AFAIK, this option only suppress data about apps that haven't been used for more than 14 days.

No, it's about WHEN they were installed, not about frequency of use or last used.

Do as I did - test it - oops, you can't ;) already deleted them ^_^

Explorer, cmd, ping, notepad, audiodg, mplayer ... all installed with Windows, just some of the files listed by CC when I just checked. As I said, 16/33 files listed by Ccleaner are files I use EVERY time I login.

Got it. Makes sense. Yet, seems to improve perf. I'll check results.

Ccleaner used in default mode is a very safe software to use to delete temporary files, cookies, recycle bin, etc. It is also safe to clean your registry with it.

Please answer the following for me so I can figure out what you have done so far:

    1. In your first message, you asked about the link for Ccleaner. Were you ever able to install it and use it? Honestly, I'm not sure ccleaner is going to help you and do not use it in anything other than the default cleaning mode.

    2. Are you up to date in all your Windows updates?

    3. Have you updated to the current version of InstallShield? http://consumerdocs.installshield.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108322&sliceId=1

    4. Did you try using Microsoft's Windows Installer Utility Cleaner: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 ("Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.") In using it, you should look for Print Shop or Borderbund in the list and remove those.
