Add and remove programs

    I noticed after trying to defrag my daughters laptop with xp home it said it less than 10% and didnt want to defrag less than 15%. I looked in add and remove and 50% or better was updates for windows? Has anyone run in to this before.The cpu crashed awhile back and she did a fresh install would that have something to do with it?

    what i would say is that the defrag program is set to only defrag if more than 15% of the drive is fragmented. so if the drive is less than the 15% say 10 % of the drive is fragmented it will say it is not required.i no longer use the built in defrag program but when i did it use to notify me after analyzing if the drive need to be defraged.

    Are you saying that you have less than 10% of space left in the hard drive?
