Add IDE channels using Rosewill RC200 RAID card

This should be an easy install but there have been untold problems which I cannot solve and seem insoluble.

I have set the BIOS for add-in cards in the boot cycle for the Rosewill RC200 RAID card. The card only needs to function as an extra or replacement IDE channel for one that fails.

But as soon as I try to access the Rosewill card BIOS on screen or try to run F6 at XP setup, I get no response from the keyboard or beeps that I am making an error.

IDE 3 and 4 show in the POST but my Seagate drive is not identified.

The goal here is JBOD (just a bunch of disks) to clone backups. I do not wish to install RAID. My backup is kept off system.

I have also read some of the comments at NewEgg for this product where I bought it. For many, the card goes in with no problems.

But my primary question (not asked previously) is why does the keyboard not take F6 in XP setup and one of the keys F3 IIRC during the Rosewill prompt?

The current setup for this is

    Abit1 motherboard with Celeron processor.

    Mainboard IDE with Liteon CDR

Rosewill PCI Raid card with Seagate HD on IDE1 (IDE3 at system) connected.

No combination of things has gotten me past seeing the LiteOn on the motherboard in POST.

Help with review of all settings will be appreciated. It looks like I am starting over.
