    Hello!!

I have made a few posts in the software and anti-malware sections of this site and have been really impressed, so thanks!!

Just out of interest, I have just replaced the RAM in my laptop - nice and easy.

How easy is it to change out other parts of my Laptop? For example, there is a possibility that my hard drive is on the fritz and I may need to change it.
I know HOW to change the hard drive, what I want to know is are there any sorts of limits imposed by the system on capacity etc. My current hard drive is a 60GB hitachi (IDE), could I stick, say a 160GB hard disk in, press the on button and everything would work (I know I would have to use my backup disks to reinstall windows, etc) or would there be some fairly major dramas involved?

What about the processor? I have a 1.5ghz processor, can you simply switch this with a new faster one or does the motherboard dictate the maximum speed of processor I can use? I would tell you what motherboard I have fitted in the laptop but I have no idea where to find that information:confused

This should tell you what is in your laptop.
To answer one of your questions there are several things in your computer which dictate what hardware you can install, the mother board is the most important. You computer manufacture should provide you with a manual which will tell you (most of the time) what upgrades can be done to your computer safely. Run the Everest report to see which MB you have post back and someone here can tell you what kind of up grade you can do safely
