Add new memory?

I have a HP computer with 256MBz of memory. It is 133MHz. Can I add a 266MHz with this or does it need to be 133MHz.

 

THe memory should be the same speed so for you 133 it is.

And your mobo does it support 266 mhz ???

 

Can I find that out with Everest Home which I have installed?

you'll need any type of ddr ram (pc1600 works, as does pc2100, pc2700) that's 256mb large. it's all right to get faster ram, although it'll probably be cheaper to go for the slower ram.

or if you can wait, you can wait for an officemax / officedepot deal where the ram is pretty much free. Personally, i'd just stick with an online store cuz i'm impatient

 

Just to clarify for your first question. Yes, you want 266Mhz memory. (also referred to as PC2100 or DDR266)
